Description: Mobile apps have rapidly become the primary avenue for the consumption of digital media with nearly two billion active smartphone users worldwide. Analyzing users’ mobile app usage experience data has therefore become an increasingly important topic. This course offers an introduction to data analytics in the mobile app domain using the R statistical programming language. Students will learn methods for acquiring and processing data and discover techniques for conducting analyses including descriptive analytics, visualization, regression, machine learning, and text analysis. Class examples and student projects will focus on gathering business insights based on customer experiences and feedback. No programming or statistical knowledge is expected or required of students enrolling in this course. The only requirement is a personal laptop computer.
